Week 2: A2 and AS Final dedicated blog lesson.

I’m satisfied that students are working on their blogs. I’ve had a look at them over the weekend and some are coming along nicely. Today will be the last lesson solely dedicated to blogging help. Students should be reflecting on the work in their blogs; have they covered all the reading and tasks set, did they grasp the work, what more could be done to facilitate their understanding of the topic?

I don’t see much evidence of students spending time posting relevant research links to del.icio.us yet, perhaps because it’s new and they’re not used to it? Hopefully, this is the case as I’d like to see evidence of students committing themselves to some extension work over the weekends and after school.

A2 and AS: Getting along with wordpress and del.icio.us

I’m hoping students have started developing their wordpress blogs and building up their bookmarks on del.icio.us by now. I find they’re useful for me to see if students are consolidating the work we’ve done in class, and for referencing homework. Amongst the many web tutorials on wordpress, students might like to try ones from blogsforteachers and ithemes. Students can also find video and web resources on del.icio.us on this page. However, there are many helpful tutorials out there. Let me know if you have some good ones.
